i have been overhauling my online prescence, and i still have a lot to do! So far though, here's the skinny --
after a LOT of deep thought and research, I have decided to combine my two Twitch channels, and will be doing both live music production AND regular DJ sessions on uvwavs.
Reason 1) Separating them is such a pain in the ass and has been affecting me very negatively to say the least. Having 2 channels is just too much to juggle. I can stream much longer on average with a DJ set than i can with live-looping or studio producton sessions. Creating music from scratch drains me much quicker as I have to keep track of twice the amount of information. Having both creation and performance on one channel creates natural variety, and therefore prevents me from burn out.
Reason 2) The releationship i have with both DJing and live music performance styles is already closely linked in my own creative realm, and I want to build a bridge between those 2 communities beyond just myself. There is a lot of negative discourse thrown at both sides, and I want to do my part to change that for the better.
Reason 3) working 2 Twitch channels is legitimately hurting my ability to grow my audience and generate real, tangible finacial stability. I'm self-employed and currently don't make very much money from streaming on Twitch or from anywhere else for that matter. Thank god i don't live by myself, or I would be homeless! Right now I personally make less than $200 a month. That is the reality. I am not rich or doing that well. Most of the nice things you see in my studio I bought almost 5 years ago with covid money savings and back-taxes the owed to me.
My goal for this year is to be making $2000 a month on average through the combination of all my revenue streams.
